The short version
- Vinted's UK User Terms show a new version applicable from October 8, 2026. The mandatory buyer fee formerly called the Buyer Protection fee is now the Vinted Fee. The terms give no amount and point to the Help Centre.
- Vinted's UK Help Centre still describes the buyer fee as typically a percentage plus a fixed amount, usually 3% to 8% plus £0.30 to £0.80, depending on the item and order. Neither the terms nor the price list announce a new rate.
- The UK price list (updated October 8, 2026) shows Item Verification at £10 and Electronics Verification at £5 per item.
- On September 24, 2026 Vinted restated that only Vinted Pro members may sell for profit as a business, and that Pro sellers must offer a 14-day refund window.
What changed
The October terms change the name and legal wording, not the amount. The UK terms call the buyer fee a mandatory platform fee paid by buyers and list currency conversion separately, at 1.2% or 3% of the item price where it applies. Refund rules now sit in a separate Vinted Refund Policy page.

The September 24 Q&A on commercial selling is a restatement, not a new rule, but it is the clearest version Vinted has published: Vinted Pro is free and open to sole traders, charities and registered businesses in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and the UK. Selling mostly new stock, drop-shipping, new handmade items and services is not allowed for any seller. A first breach brings a warning and restrictions; repeat breaches can lead to suspension.
What it means for your business
For private sellers clearing out a wardrobe, nothing changes in what you keep: the buyer still pays Vinted's fee and you receive your item price. For resellers buying stock to flip, the September Q&A is the line to read twice. Vinted says selling for profit as a business needs a Pro account, and Pro comes with consumer refund duties (14 days).
If you price items close to a competitor on eBay or Depop, remember the buyer sees your price plus the Vinted Fee and shipping. A UK item listed at £20 typically costs the buyer roughly £20.90 to £22.40 before postage (illustrative, using Vinted's typical range).
Who is affected
- UK Vinted buyers and sellers (the October 8 terms are on the UK site).
- Resellers who buy to resell on Vinted in the eight Vinted Pro countries.
- Sellers of designer or electronic items who use Vinted's verification services.
