Here's how the main US resale platforms charge sellers as of September 2026, for standard accounts in most categories:
- Vinted: no seller fees. Buyers pay a buyer protection fee on top of your price.
- eBay: 13.6% of the total sale, including shipping the buyer pays, plus $0.40 per order ($0.30 on orders of $10 or less). Some categories use different rates.
- Poshmark: a flat $2.95 on sales under $15, and 20% on sales of $15 or more. Buyers pay shipping separately.
- Depop: no selling fee for US and UK sellers, but payment processing of 3.3% plus $0.45 applies in the US, including on shipping. Boosted listings cost extra.
- Mercari: 10% of the sale price plus any shipping the buyer pays.
- Etsy: a 6.5% transaction fee and about 3% plus $0.25 in payment processing, plus a $0.20 listing fee, on the item and shipping.
- Facebook Marketplace: free for local pickup. Shipped sales pay 10%, with a $0.80 minimum.
How to calculate reselling profit
Don't forget costs that aren't tied to one sale, like shipping supplies, mileage to thrift stores and cross-listing subscriptions. Subtract those from your monthly total to see your real net profit.
Which platform keeps the most?
For lower-priced items, Poshmark's flat fee can take a large share, while Vinted, Depop and Facebook local pickup keep more of the sale. For higher-priced items, the percentage fees on eBay, Mercari and Poshmark matter most.
