How eBay fees work in 2026

• Final value fee: 13.6% of the total sale for most categories, on the item price, buyer-paid shipping, handling and sales tax, up to $7,500; 2.35% on the part above $7,500.
• Per-order fee: $0.40 per order, or $0.30 when the order total is $10 or less.
• Category rates: books, movies and music 15.3%; trading cards, comics and coins 13.25%; guitars and basses 6.7%; athletic shoes of $150 or more 8% with no per-order fee.
• Listing fees: 250 free listings a month, then $0.35 each.
• International fee: 1.65% when you ship abroad without eBay International Shipping.
• Penalties: sellers below standard pay 6% more; very high rates of item-not-as-described returns add 5%.

Example

A $30 item with $5 shipping paid by the buyer (no sales tax): the final value fee is 13.6% of $35 = $4.76, plus the $0.40 per-order fee, so eBay takes $5.16 and you receive $29.84. Read the full eBay fees guide.
