How Whatnot fees work in 2026
- Commission: 8% of the sale price at the starting tier, falling to as low as 4% to 6.5% depending on category as your sales over a rolling 28 days grow (new tiers since September 21, 2026). Coins start at 4%.
- Payment processing: 2.9% of the item price, shipping and tax, plus $0.30.
- Shipping: the buyer pays.
- High-value promo: no commission on the part of a sale above $1,500 in eligible categories, for as long as Whatnot runs it.
- Canada: the same rates with tiers in CAD (starting tier under C$10,000).
Example
A $30 sale in most categories at the starting tier (no tax): 8% commission is $2.40 and processing is 2.9% + $0.30 = $1.17, so Whatnot takes $3.57 and you keep $26.43.
Selling the same item on more apps
Listing on several marketplaces sells items faster, but copying listings by hand takes time and risks selling one item twice. A crosslisting app posts one listing everywhere and removes it when it sells: compare prices in our crosslisting app comparison.
