How much does Poshmark take?
Poshmark takes 20% of the sale price on any sale of $15 or more, and a flat $2.95 on sales under $15. That one fee covers the platform commission and payment processing. There's no charge to list an item, and the fee is based on the final price the buyer paid for the item, after any offer you accepted, not your original listing price.
The flat fee is what catches people out. $2.95 is 20% of $14.75, so on anything cheaper than that, the flat fee takes a bigger share than 20%. On a $5 sale it's 59%.

Notice the jump at the threshold: a $14 sale keeps $11.05, while a $15 sale keeps $12.00. Pricing an item at exactly $15 instead of $14 earns you $0.95 more.
Worked example: a thrifted jacket
You buy a jacket for $8 and sell it on Poshmark for $35. The buyer pays for shipping.
- Poshmark fee: 20% of $35 = $7.00
- You keep: $35 − $7.00 = $28.00
- Profit after what you paid: $28.00 − $8 = $20.00
Worked example: an accepted offer with a shipping discount
You list a dress at $40 and accept a $30 offer. To close the sale, you offered a shipping discount that saves the buyer $3.
- Poshmark fee: 20% of $30 = $6.00 (the fee is on the accepted price, not the $40 listing price)
- Shipping discount, taken from your earnings: $3.00
- You keep: $30 − $6 − $3 = $21.00, which is 52.5% of your original listing price
Offers and shipping discounts are normal on Poshmark, so price your listings with room for them.
Poshmark shipping and fees
Poshmark sells one flat-rate prepaid shipping label for most orders, and the buyer pays for it at checkout. You print the label and drop the package off. The standard label covers packages up to 5 lb; for heavier items you pay for an upgraded label yourself. Poshmark adjusts the label price from time to time, so check the current rate in the app.
Because the buyer pays for the label, Poshmark's fee doesn't apply to shipping. That's different from eBay, Depop and Mercari, which charge their fees on shipping the buyer pays too.
Poshmark fees in Canada
Canadian sellers pay a flat C$3.95 on sales under C$20 and 20% on sales of C$20 or more. GST or HST is charged on Poshmark's fee, depending on your province. On a C$50 sale, the fee is C$10 plus tax on that C$10, so you keep a little under C$40.
Poshmark vs eBay, Depop and Mercari fees
Here's what you'd keep on each platform, before what you paid for the item. For eBay, Depop and Mercari, we assume the buyer pays $8.00 for shipping and your label costs the same, since those platforms charge fees on shipping. On Poshmark the buyer pays for the label separately. The highest amount for each price is in bold.

Poshmark vs eBay fees
eBay charges 13.6% on the total sale, including shipping and sales tax, plus $0.40 per order ($0.30 on orders of $10 or less). On a $50 item with $8.00 shipping, eBay's fee is about $8.29, compared with $10.00 on Poshmark. eBay usually costs less in fees, but you handle more of the shipping yourself, and some categories have different rates.
Poshmark vs Depop fees
Depop removed its selling fee for US sellers in 2024, so US sellers only pay payment processing of 3.3% plus $0.45 on the item and shipping. On the same $50 sale that's about $2.36. For most sales, Depop keeps far less than Poshmark. Boosted listings on Depop cost extra.
Poshmark vs Mercari fees
Mercari charges 10% of the item price plus the shipping the buyer pays, with no separate payment processing fee. On the $50 example that's $5.80. Mercari also charges $3 if you want an instant payout.
Fees aren't the whole story. Poshmark has a large audience for clothing, shoes and accessories, and the item that sits unsold on a cheaper platform earns you nothing. Many resellers cross-list on several platforms and let the item sell wherever the buyer is.
Did Poshmark change its fees?
Briefly. In October 2024, Poshmark tested a new structure that lowered the seller fee and added a fee for buyers. Sellers reported a sharp drop in sales, and later that month Poshmark reversed the change, went back to the $2.95 and 20% structure, and refunded the difference to affected sellers. The same structure applies in 2026.
How to keep more on Poshmark
- Price to the threshold. Items that would sell for $13 or $14 keep more at $15.
- Bundle low-priced items. Three $8 items in one bundle pay one 20% fee instead of three $2.95 flat fees, keeping $19.20 instead of $15.15.
- Leave room for offers. List slightly higher so an accepted offer still hits your target.
- Watch shipping discounts. They come out of your earnings, not Poshmark's.
- Track real profit. Include what you paid, supplies and mileage, not just the payout.
