For a US shop, every sale pays three fees:
- Listing fee: $0.20 per item. You pay it when you list, and again when the item sells and auto-renews.
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the item price plus the shipping and gift wrap you charge.
- Payment processing: 3% + $0.25 of the whole order, including shipping and any sales tax Etsy collects.
With the calculator's example numbers, a $25 item with $5 shipping and no sales tax pays $0.20 + $1.95 + $1.15 = $3.30 in fees, 11% of the $30 order. You receive $26.70. After a $5 label and $6 to make the item, you keep $15.70.
What does an Offsite Ads sale cost?
When a buyer clicks one of Etsy's ads on Google, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or another site and buys from your shop within 30 days, Etsy adds an Offsite Ads fee of 15% of the order (12% for shops that have made $10,000 or more in a year), capped at $100 per order. On the same $30 order, that's another $4.50: fees jump from $3.30 to $7.80, and your profit drops from $15.70 to $11.20.

If a buyer clicks one of Etsy's ads on another site and buys from your shop within 30 days, Etsy charges an Offsite Ads fee: 15% of the order for shops under $10,000 in yearly sales, or 12% once you have passed $10,000. The fee never goes above $100 per order.
Can I turn off Etsy Offsite Ads?
Only if your shop has never made $10,000 or more in a 365-day period. Once you pass that, Offsite Ads are required for the life of the shop, at the lower 12% rate.
Is the Etsy listing fee charged again when an item sells?
Yes. Etsy charges $0.20 to list an item for four months, and when it sells with auto-renew on, Etsy charges another $0.20 to renew it. If a buyer purchases several of the same item, you pay $0.20 for each additional unit.
Are Etsy fees different outside the US?
The listing, transaction and Offsite Ads fees are the same everywhere, but payment processing differs by country (for example 4% + £0.20 in the UK and 4% + €0.30 in Germany and France), and some countries add a regulatory operating fee.
