Which Amazon selling plan is cheaper?

The Individual plan charges $0.99 for every item you sell. The Professional plan is a flat $39.99 a month. $39.99 ÷ $0.99 = 40.4, so if you sell 41 or more items a month, Professional costs less. Referral and FBA fees apply on both plans.

How much is Amazon's referral fee?

Amazon takes a percentage of the total sales price: the item price plus any shipping or gift-wrap charges, excluding sales tax. You pay the percentage or the minimum fee, whichever is higher.

Referral fee = (item + shipping + gift wrap) × category rate, minimum $0.30

Watch the price breaks

The clothing thresholds matter: a $20.00 shirt pays 10% ($2.00), while a $20.99 shirt pays 17% ($3.57). Pricing just under a threshold can keep more money.

How much are Amazon FBA fees in 2026?

If you use Fulfillment by Amazon, you pay a per-unit fulfillment fee when each order ships. It depends on the size tier, the shipping weight and the price. Here are common rows for non-apparel items priced $10 to $50:

Large standard1+ to 1.25 lb$5.04$5.34
Large standard1.75+ to 2 lb$5.82$6.15
Large standard2.75+ to 3 lb$6.67$7.08

US, non-apparel, items priced $10 to $50, as of September 30, 2026. Add the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge. Items under $10 get lower Low-Price FBA rates; items over $50 pay more; apparel has its own table.

Size tiers come from the packaged item's weight and dimensions. For large standard and bigger items, Amazon uses the greater of the actual weight and the dimensional weight, so a light but bulky box can cost more than you expect.

What does Amazon charge for storage?

Monthly storage is charged per cubic foot of space your inventory takes up. For standard-size items it's $0.78 per cubic foot from January to September and $2.40 from October to December (oversize: $0.56 and $1.40). Sellers who store a lot compared with what they sell can also pay a storage utilization surcharge. It only applies once your ratio passes 22 weeks and you meet Amazon's other criteria.

Two opposite traps

Amazon also charges a low-inventory-level fee when stock of a standard or bulky product falls below 28 days of supply compared with demand. Keep enough stock at the warehouse, but not so much that storage fees pile up in Q4.
