A 12-week Canton Fair prep timeline
- 12 weeks out: Pick your phase from the table. Check entry rules for your passport at the official source (the Chinese embassy or consulate site for your country) and note the date you checked.
- 10 weeks out: Book a hotel near the Canton Fair Complex in Haizhu District. Rooms near the venue fill up and rise in price as the fair gets closer.
- 8 weeks out: Pre-register as a buyer as soon as registration opens on the official site, so your badge is ready and you skip the on-site queue.
- 6 weeks out: Build a supplier shortlist from the official exhibitor search and message booths ahead. Ask for MOQ, FOB price at three quantities and sample time.
- 4 weeks out: Set a samples budget and work out your landed cost per unit so you can judge quotes on the spot.
- 1 week out: Print your shortlist with booth numbers, load the hall map and plan one hall per half day.

Phase 1 covers electronics, machinery and hardware. Phase 2 covers consumer goods, home and gifts. Phase 3 covers toys, fashion, bags, pet products and personal care. Pick the phase that matches what you sell.

Yes. Overseas buyers pre-register on the official site to get a buyer badge. Registration usually opens a few months before the spring session. Our alert includes the day it opens.
